DeBye Wraps Up Defensive Player of the Week

North Easton, Mass. - Senior co-captain Mike DeBye (Burlington, Mass.) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's defensive player of the week, after his monster game in the Skyhawks 12-7 win over C.W. Post, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

DeBye had a career-high 15 tackles, including 12 solo stops, helping Stonehill improve to 3-0 for the first time since 1995. He anchors a defense that has given up just 21 points so far this season, far and away the fewest in the Conference. Four of his stops came behind the line of scrimmage, highlighted by a sack of Pioneer quarterback Nick Georgetti and a key third down stop that forced a fourth and long. In three contests this season, he leads the Skyhawks with 28 tackles and three pass breakups.

In addition to DeBye, the tandem of Cruz Parsons (Signal Hill, Calif.) and David Pringle (West Haven, Conn.) were named to the Conference's weekly honor roll. Parsons, the Northeast-10's leader in passing efficency, was exactly that in the win last week. He went 10-of-15 for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Pringle, meanwhile, had his best day as a collegian, hauling in five balls for 128 yards and a 54-yard score. He leads Stonehill with nine catches for 191 yards so far this season.

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they host Football Championship Subdivison (formerly D-1AA) Iona under the lights at 7 p.m. at W.B. Mason Stadium
