Bonnett, Donahue, Masson Honored For Academics

Katherine Masson has received Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the second straight season.

North Easton, Mass. - A week after four women's soccer players were honored for their work in the classroom, three more Stonehill student-athletes are being recognized for their academic excellence and athletic accomplishments.

Volleyball student-athlete Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Second-Team. A Biology major, Masson has helped first-year head coach Eric Snyder to nine wins, four more than the program had in 2006. She was a third-team selection a year ago.

Defensive lineman Kevin Bonnett (Manchester, N.H.) makes his second straight appearance on the Conference's All-Academic squad. A Business concentrator, Bonnett is a key cog in a revitalized Skyhawk defense that is yielding only 16.6 points per game, good for first in the Conference. The junior has started all seven contests and recorded 14 tackles, including 2.5 for loss to go along with two sacks. He also leads the team with two fumble recoveries.

Sean Donahue, a starter in the defensive backfield for the first five contests before an injury, the Education major had 20 tackles including 19 solo stops. He also served as the team's primary punter and kicker, and his 39.5 average was leading the Northeast-10. He was four-for-five on field goals with his only miss coming from 43 yards.

The Plymouth, N.H. native, a CoSida ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honoree a season ago, was Stonehill's lone all-conference representative in 2006.
