PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.-- Junior Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) collected three hits and three RBI as Stonehill ran its winning streak to seven straight by sweeping a Northeast-10 Conference baseball doubleheader from Pace by scores of 4-3 in the opener and 6-2 in the nightcap in games played at Finnerty Field.

The visiting Skyhawks (18-11, 12-3 Northeast-10), who have won nine of their last 10 outings since April 1st, overcame a 3-0 deficit in the opener by plating four runs in the seventh. Senior T.J. Piscatelli (Norfolk, Mass.) led off the frame with a triple and scored on Pardo's RBI single, and junior Matt Vaughn (Bow, N.H.) rapped out a two-run double to even matters at 3-3, setting the stage for the game-winning RBI single off the bat of senior Coley Lyons (West Roxbury, Mass.), his second straight game-winning hit. Senior Brian Nelson (Greenville, R.I.) scattered nine hits and allowed two earned runs in 7 1/3 innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the mound for Stonehill, as senior Joe Breen (Swampscott, Mass.) came on to induce a double-play ball in the eighth and retire the side in order in the ninth for his third save of the season.

The host Setters (21-11, 7-5 Northeast-10) used single runs in the third, fourth and sixth innings to take their 3-0 edge on a fielder's choice groundout by sophomore Jack Cawley (Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore Matt Arburr's (Bristol, Conn.) 10th homer of the spring that sandwiched a throwing error, setting the stage for Stonehill's rally in the seventh. Lyons had two of the Skyhawks' seven hits in the opener, while junior Adam Harwood (Los Angeles, Calif.) picked up two of Pace's nine hits, as senior Matt Reilly (Denville, N.J.) went the distance on the mound for the hosts in the first game, striking out 12 but falling to 5-2 on the season.

Stonehill jumped out to a 3-0 third inning lead in the nightcap on RBI singles in the second by Piscatelli and Pardo coupled with a double-play groundout in the third, and the Skyhawks added three more in the sixth to close out their scoring on Pardo's second RBI single of the game along with a pair of throwing errors. Pace plated two in the sixth on a pair of RBI infield singles by Cawley and Arburr to close out the scoring for the contest, as sophomore Andy Hillier (Hanover, Mass.) allowed five hits and two runs over five-plus innings and fanned four to improve to 4-2 on the mound for the visitors. Junior Chris Herrmann (Chelmsford, Mass.) retired all 11 batters he faced over the final four innings to pick up his second save of the season for Stonehill, as Pardo and senior Sean Lawrence (New Rochelle, N.Y.) each had two hits in the nightcap triumph. Arburr added two more hits in the second game setback for Pace, as junior Tommy Parry (Wayne, Pa.) allowed three hits and struck out four over four innings of work to fall to 1-2 on the mound for the Setters.

Stonehill and Pace close out their three-game Northeast-10 set on Monday afternoon at Gorman Field beginning at 3:30 p.m.
