Former Head Men's Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics, Ray Pepin, served in the dual role at Stonehill from 1984 until his passing in September 1995.  He ranks as the all-time winningest coach in school history with an overall mark of 177-141 (.548) that included a pair of Northeast-10 Conference Championships in 1986-87 and 1988-89.  His squad also earned a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament during the latter year. Pepin's teams won 19 or more contests on four occasions during his career as he coached a total 12 members of Stonehill's 1,000 point club. In his role as Director of Athletics, Pepin helped oversee expansion of the department's sport offerings.  The annual Northeast-10 Coach of the Year award is named in his honor.
