The fourth-winningest men's basketball coach in school history, Fran O'Brien guided Stonehill to 87 victories during his tenure from 1960-67. Four of O'Brien's teams posted 14 or more victories, including the 1962-63 squad, which posted a then school record 19 triumphs, a mark that still stands as the fifth-highest single-season win total in school history. Fran, who currently serves as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Holy Cross, also served as an outstanding coach and administrator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of both the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Randolph-Stetson Athletic Hall of Fame.
