Howie Bain was a two-sport standout at Stonehill.  After graduating as Stonehill's 22nd leading scorer (1,063) in men's basketball history, this co-captain and Hopewell Junction, N.Y. native led Head Coach James Dougher's Stonehill squad to a pair of NCAA Division II tournament berths in 1971 and 1973. 

Stonehill compiled an overall record of 72-31 (.699) during his career. Bain was a three time "Athlete of the Year" selection who participated in the 1974 New England All-Star Basketball game.  He was also a three-year letter winner in baseball as a standout pitcher for Head Coach Lou Collitti.
