Conrod/Mendoza reach C-Doubles Bracket final
EASTON, Mass. (September 11, 2018) – The Stonehill College men's tennis program held its annual Doubles Invitational at Charles Watt Tennis Courts and the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex over the weekend and posted a pair of third place finishes to highlight its day.
Sophomore Joey Conrod and freshman Luke Mendoza led the way for Stonehill on Saturday with a runner-up finish in the C-Doubles draw. The duo dropped an 8-5 decision to Arthur Wicke and Lucas Arora from the US Coast Guard Academy in the flight championship match. Conrod and Mendoza opened with an 8-3 quarterfinal round win over Jake Cole and Matt Feldman from Roger Williams College and then topped Saint Anselm College's Jason Wood and Sam Kluger in the semifinals, 8-7 (7-2).
Junior Samuel Miller and freshman Juan Camilo Riano Rojas turned in a third place finish in the B-Bracket draw, while junior Aaron Diamond and sophomore Aleksander Lazowski teamed up for a third place showing in the D-Bracket. Sophomore Russell White and freshman Vincent Huynh reached the semifinals of the A-Bracket, eventually finishing fourth.
