Equestrian Finishes as Reserve High Point Team at Bridgewater State Show

NORFOLK, Mass. (March 3, 2024)- The Stonehill College equestrian team opened its spring campaign Sunday afternoon at the Bridgewater State Show at the ABD Equestrian Farm in Norfolk, Massachusetts. 

Highlights

  • The Skyhawks saw three riders take home first-place finishes and two qualify for regional competition.  
  • Junior Madeline Ahern and junior Emma Worster qualified for regionals in the open and intermediate flat events, respectively. 
  • Ahern also earned reserve high point rider of the day after taking home a first and second place finish in the open flat and fences events. 
  • Worster's regional qualifying ride came with a third-place finish in the intermediate flat event before she capped off her day by taking home a top-five finish in intermediate fences. 
  • First-year student Lauren Eager earned a first-place ribbon in her limit division flat debut. At the same time, sophomore Hannah Tetrault joined Eager with a third-place spot on the podium. 
  • Senior Lindsey Simmons rounded out Stonehill's first-place finishers in the intermediate fences event. 
  • Senior trio of Hadley Gilmartin, Kelly Morrissey, and Sarah Herring rounded out the Skyhawks top-five finishers.
  • Gilmartin finished third in the novice division, while Morrissey and Herring earned fourth overall in the walk trot division and open fences events, respectively.
