Equestrian Finishes Second Overall at Home Show; Simmons Earns Reserve High Point Rider

 

WALPOLE, Mass. (October 28, 2022)- The Stonehill College equestrian team hosted its annual Home Show at the Mor Linn Farm in Walpole, Massachusetts on Saturday. The Skyhawks finished second overall in the team standings and earned reserve high point team honors.

Highlights

  • Senior Lindsey Simmons highlighted Stonehill finishing as the reserve high point rider.
  • Simmons earned first place finishes in both the intermediate fences and limit flat events.
  • Senior Sarah Herring capped off the Skyhawks first place finishers after taking home the crown in the open division flat event.
  • Junior Grace Faddoul had a solid day in the ring, earning two second place finishes in both the intermediate fences and flat events.
  • Stonehill also saw junior classmates Madeline Ahern and Emma Worster as well as first-year student Lauren Eager, take second place in the open flat, intermediate flat, and intermediate fence events, respectively.
  • After taking home a top-five finish in the pre-novice division senior Hadley Gilmartin will be moving up into the novice division.
  • Senior Kaitlyn Gilson made her debut in the pre-novice division and earned a second-place finish.
  • Senior Kelly Morrissey rounded out the Skyhawks riders on the day, finishing third on the podium in the introductory division.
  • Capping off Stonehill's top-five finishers on the day were Ahern and Herring who finished back-to-back, third and fourth, in the open division fences event.
