Stonehill SAAC to Host Rock-a-Thon Benefiting Team IMPACT

EASTON, Mass. (April 5, 2024) - The Stonehill College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be hosting a "Rock-a-Thon" on Friday, April 26, an all-day event benefiting Team IMPACT.

The "Rock-a-Thon" will be held at the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex from 8:00 a.m., through 8:00 p.m. For 12 consecutive hours, members of the Stonehill community, including various departments and athletic teams, will be "rocking" in Adirondack chairs to raise money for a great cause. There will be games, music, and a chance to win a rocking chair.

Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.

Individuals will be "rocking" in the custom-made rocking chairs with Stonehill athletic logos. Raffle tickets for a chance to win these chairs will be sold on campus leading up to and during the event, with the winners to be announced upon the conclusion of the Rock-a-Thon.

Stonehill SAAC hosted its first-ever Rock-A-Thon in 2017, raising a grand total of $6,500.00 for the Make-A-Wish foundation. The recap video from 2017 can be found HERE.
