118 Stonehill Student-Athletes Named to NEC Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Mass. (February 7, 2024) – Stonehill College placed 118 student-athletes on the Northeast Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll announced by the conference on Wednesday. To be eligible for the NEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post at least a 3.2 grade-point average. In addition, 44 Skyhawk student-athletes boasted a 3.75 grade-point average or better to be named to the NEC Fall Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

The fall academic honor roll consisted of a conference record 1,239 student-athletes with a 3.20 or better grade point average, the second-highest total in league history. There were also 493 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.75 or better grade point average, just shy of the league record of 498 from 2021.

Among the 118 Skyhawk student-athletes named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll, four earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Julieta D'Antonio from field hockey, Michael Strachan from football, Carlos Dias Neto of men's soccer, and Kelsey Bello of women's soccer each finished with a 4.0 GPA for the semester.

Graduate student Colin Black of the men's cross country team highlighted the Skyhawks roster this past fall, taking home a sixth-place finish at the NEC Cross Country Championships to earn a spot on the All-NEC team.

Women's cross country first-year student Kellie Harrington earned both All-Conference and All-Rookie nods from the NEC for her impressive rookie campaign, highlighted by her 10th-place finish at the NEC Championships with a time of 19:09.1.

Senior Reagan Hickey of the Stonehill field hockey team was recognized as an NEC Academic Honor Roll member after finishing the fall with a 3.41 GPA. On the turf, Hickey led the Skyhawks with 19 points off eight goals and three assists to rank in the conference where she would cap off the season taking home an All-NEC second team nod.   

Postgraduate offensive lineman David Satkowski highlighted Stonehill's fall student-athletes academically earning NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in football for the second-straight year, marking the College's first two-time recipient during the institution's second year at the NCAA Division I level.

Men's soccer senior captain Jacob Woznicki capped off his outstanding fall campaign on the pitch, earning himself a spot on the NEC Academic honor roll. The Bristol, Conn., native led the Skyhawks in all categories after posting career-highs in goals (9), assists (4), points (22), and shots on goal percentage (.535) to take home a spot on the All-NEC First Team distinctions.

Sophomore defender Rebecca Lancaster of the Skyhawks women's soccer program earned NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll distinctions after finishing the fall semester with a 3.94 GPA. In addition, the Scotch Plains, N.J., native also was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-Academic Team after her performance both on the pitch and in the classroom.

Stonehill volleyball senior Lauren McCloskey finished the fall with a 3.66 GPA after playing a vital role on the Skyhawks front line for the past two seasons. She played in all 32 matches this season, seeing action in 114 of the 115 sets the Skyhawks played in. The middle blocker has played in 213 of 217 sets since the start of the 2022 season.

On the women's side, women's soccer had 24 Skyhawks earn honor roll, followed by volleyball at 15, field hockey at 14, and women's cross country with 11. On the men's side, men's soccer led the way with 23 student-athletes earn honor roll, while football was not far behind with 20 members of the team on the honor roll, and finally men's cross country saw 11 teammates grab the academic honor.
