EASTON, Mass. (January 21, 2020) – The Stonehill College women's track and field saw senior Anna Lastra and freshman Haley Lightbody earn Northeast-10 Conference Weekly Honors, as announced by the league Tuesday.

Both Skyhawks competed at the Sorlien Memorial Invitational on Saturday, January 18, hosted by the University of Rhode Island at the Mackal Fieldhouse, as they were two of 18 Skyhawks to earn top-10 results this weekend.

Lastra competed in the 800-meter run this weekend, taking home third in her heat and third overall the 29 competitors. She clocked in a time of 2:19.74 for her first time running in this event. The converted time of 2:18.15 qualified her for the New England Championship and ranks her 28th on the qualifying list. Her time is currently second on the NE10 performance list, as well.

In her third meet of the year, Lightbody cleared a height of 11 feet, 1.75 inches. This mark placed her sixth out of 19 competitors at URI, where she cleared the height on her third try. The height was the best height for a freshman at the meet and this qualified her for New England's, where the measurement is 21st overall on the performance list. Among the NE10, Lightbody leads the way with the best mark, followed by two of her teammates.

Stonehill will continue its indoor schedule as they will send a small group to the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, January 24, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center, as most of the team will compete at the USM Open II, hosted by the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, Maine on Saturday, January 25.
