Men's Basketball Partners With Moreau Hall School

EASTON, Mass. (October 12, 2016) - The Stonehill College men's basketball team is partnering with the Moreau Hall School's kindergarten and second grade classes in a Reading Buddy program. 

After speaking with Principal Thomas Higgins of the Moreau Hall School (Easton, Mass.), Stonehill men's basketball head coach Chris Kraus '06 and the Stonehill men's basketball team will take part in their Reading Buddies on Thursday afternoons for the duration of the school year. The reading buddies combine Ms. Police and Mrs. Sanpietro's kindergarten and second grade classes with the players each week.

Stonehill is coming off a 2015-16 season in which it posted a 24-9 record overall mark, including 15-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Skyhawks earned their 14th NCAA Tournament bid on its way to capturing a third NCAA Division II East Regional Championship to advance to the Elite Eight in Frisco, Texas. 

Stonehill opens its 2016-17 season with an exhibition at NCAA Division I Boston College, from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), on Thursday, November 3 at at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. The Skyhawks open their regular season on Friday, November 11, when it faces Nyack College at the Assumption College Tip-Off Tournament in Worcester, Massachusetts, at 5:30 p.m. Stonehill's home opener is against Assumption on Wednesday, November 16, for their NE-10 opener at 7:30 p.m.
