Logan Named Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (January 27, 2015) – Stonehill College sophomore forward Ryan Logan (Fredericktown, Ohio/Fredericktown) has been named the Spalding Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week by the league office today.

Logan led Stonehill to a 2-0 week with both wins coming in Northeast-10 cross-divisional games against the two teams that competed for the Conference Championship and made NCAA Tournament appearances last season. He averaged 19.5 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 44.8-percent from the field (13-for-29), including 4-for-8 (50%) from three-point range, while converting 9-of-13 (69.2%) free-throw attempts for the week.

Logan contributed 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting with nine rebounds and three assists in the Skyhawks 75-62 win over No. 22-ranked Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday. He followed that up by posting his fourth 20-plus point outing of the season (three of which have come in the last five games) in Saturday's 63-53 win at the University of New Haven with a game-high 22 points (14 first half) on 6-of-14 shooting, including 4-for-6 from three-point range, while converting 6-of-7 free-throws to go with seven rebounds.

Logan is one of two Stonehill players to start all 18 games this season and leads four Skyhawks in double figures with 13.9 points per game on 43-percent shooting from the field, while converting 69-percent (49-for-71) of his free-throws. He is second on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game (11th NE-10), while adding 2.2 assists and a steal in 28.9 minutes per game. Logan is averaging 15.5 points on 44.1-percent shooting with 6.9 rebounds and two assists per game in Stonehill's 12 NE-10 games, converting 71.2% (45-59) of his free-throws.

Logan has led Stonehill in scoring four times this season, including three of the last four games, netting a career-high 31 points at Pace University on January 10. He has been the Skyhawks top rebounder three times with two double-doubles. Logan has reached double-figures in scoring in 13 games this season, including each of the last five heading into this week.

Logan, a Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman, has started all 44 games of his collegiate career to date and is averaging 12.5 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal per game. He is shooting 43.3-percent from the floor, including 37.6% from three-point range, while converting 70.7-percent of his free-throws over his career. Logan was the Skyhawks top scorer as a freshman with 11.6 points to go with 6.8 rebounds per game and he was named the NE-10 Rookie of the Week four times.

Stonehill (12-6, 7-5 NE-10), ranked tenth in this week's D2SIDA East Regional poll, is back in action on Tuesday night when it visits Le Moyne College for another key NE-10 matchup at 7 p.m. The Skyhawks return home on Saturday to host The College of Saint Rose at Merkert Gymnasium as part of Alumni Weekend at the College at 3:30 p.m.
