Lee named NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, earns All-Conference honors along with Hamor

Senior forward Patrick Lee (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) has been named the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year and also earns a spot on the All-Northeast-10 Conference third team, while junior guard Brian Hamor (Schenectady, N.Y./Bishop Gibbons) has been voted to the All-Conference second team. It marks the third-straight year and fourth time in program history overall a Stonehill player has earned the NE-10's top defensive honors, with Lee joining former teammates Randall Stallworth (2009-10) and Daniel Heppert (2010-11) who received the award the last two seasons. Lee and Hamor collect All-Conference honors for the first time in their career and give Stonehill 33 All-NE-10 selections in program history.

Lee backbones a Stonehill defense that  leads the Conference in scoring defense (57.8 ppg), field goal percentage defense (.398) and blocked shots (4.6/gm), while also ranking third for three-point field goal percentage defense (.324) and rebounding margin (+3.2/gm).

Lee

Lee has started all 25 of the games he has played this season and is averaging 11 points and a team-high 8.6 rebounds (2^nd NE-10), with 1.3 assists, 1.1 blocked shots (9^th) and 1.2 steals in 30.5 minutes per game. He is shooting 48.9-percent from the field with eight double-doubles, leading the Skyhawks in scoring three times and rebounding on 16 occasions. Lee has scored in double-figures 18 times this season and rebounding 11 times, scoring a career-high 21 points to go with a then career-best 13 rebounds in a win over Southern New Hampshire University on December 6.

Lee has started all 21 NE-10 games he has appeared in during his senior season and is averaging 11 points, a team-best 8.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and a blocked shot per game, shooting 49.2-percent from the field. He has played 109 games over his four year career at Stonehill, starting 58, and has totaled 807 points, 629 rebounds and 77 blocked shots, shooting 51.6-percent from the field for his career. Lee's game-winning three-pointer from just inside half court at Le Moyne College during his junior year was featured as the "Top Play" of the day on ESPN's SportsCenter. He also earned a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall 2011 semester.

Hamor

Hamor has started all 26 games for Stonehill in his junior season and leads the Skyhawks with 14 points (15^th NE-10) on 41.1-percent shooting from the field, including 35% (43-123) from beyond the arc, and converting 70.4% (88-125) of his free-throws, to go with 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists (14^th) in a team-high 32.5 minutes per game. He has led the Skyhawks in scoring nine times this season, including five of the last seven games, and assists ten times. He has scored 20-plus points on six occasions this winter and connected on three or more three-pointers six times.

Hamor scored a career-high 30 points, draining a career-best seven three-pointers, to go with five assists, three rebounds and two steals in a key 69-35 win at the University of Massachusetts Lowell on February 8. He notched his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high ten assists in an overtime win over Merrimack College on November 27.

Hamor is averaging 14.2 points on 41.7-percent shooting from the floor, including 33% (35-109) from beyond the arc, and converting 70.6% (77-109) of his free-throws in NE-10 play this season, adding 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 32.6 minutes per contest. He enters the postseason on a roll, averaging 18.2 points on 55.7-percent (39-70) shooting from the field, including 48.4% (15-31) from deep, in the Skyhawks six February contests, adding 3.5 rebounds and three assists per game.

Hamor has played 86 games over his three seasons at Stonehill and has totaled 820 points, 240 rebounds, 192 assists and 65 steals. He is shooting 38.2-percent from the field, with 116 career three-pointers (.32%) over his career.

Stonehill (18-8, 15-7 NE-10), seeded third for the NE-10 Tournament, opens postseason play on Sunday, when it hosts sixth-seeded Merrimack College for a quarterfinal round matchup in Merkert Gymnasium at 1 p.m. Admission will be $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for children and senior citizens and $1.00 for students from participating colleges with a valid ID. The first 100 Stonehill students will be admitted free of charge when presenting their "Hill Card" at the ticket stand, courtesy of Student Affairs.
