Wilde

EASTON, Massachusetts (May 18, 2020) – Stonehill College sophomore third basemen Aidan Wilde has earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District® first team for District I, as announced by the members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the region. Wilde is now eligible for Academic All-America® honors, selected by CoSIDA's Academic All-America® Committee, as well as voters from the region, to be announced during the second week of June.

Wilde, who has earned a 3.54 cumulative grade point average as an engineering major at the College, is the fifth CoSIDA Academic All-District® selection all-time for the Stonehill baseball program, its first since Christian Baglini, '15 in 2015, who previously earned it in 2014 as well.

The Skyhawks abrupt season ended as Wilde played in 12 of 13 games, including a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and two trips to Florida where they went 8-5 overall. He was on track for new career highs as he was averaging .302 at the plate with a .423 on-base percentage, and a .628 slugging percentage. He was 13-for-43 with 11 runs scored and 15 RBI, just six shy of last season where the Skyhawks played 46 games. He chipped in three doubles, one triple, and matched last season's homerun tally with three. He walked eight times with just six strikeouts, stealing one base. In the field he saw a .875 fielding percentage as he helped turn three double plays with 23 assists.

Wilde was named the NE10 Rookie Hitter of the Year in 2019

At the start of the season, the Milford, Massachusetts native was named to the NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) Preseason All-East Region first team. As freshman he was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie Hitter of the Year, the program's first major award winner for a rookie. He highlighted six All-Conference selections for the Skyhawks, as he was also tabbed on the All-Rookie Team.

He has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for three semesters and the NE10 Academic Honor Roll for three semesters, twice with Academic Distinction and once with Academic Honors. For having the highest cumulative grade point average through the fall 2019 semester on the baseball team, Wilde was recognized with his first St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal.

Last season he finished second on the team with a .313 batting average and first on the team with a .433 on-base percentage, including six stolen bases. He played in 46 out of 47 games on the schedule, with 42 of them at third base. At the plate, he tallied 14 multiple hit games, where he went 50-for-160, scoring 35 runs to lead the team, and drove in 21 RBI. He also tallied eight doubles, three triples, and three homeruns, while drawing 26 walks to lead the team.
