EASTON, Mass. (April 14, 2011) – Stonehill College, among teams receiving votes in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II poll and ranked fourth in the NCBWA East Regional poll, scored twice in the seventh to erase a one-run deficit and notch its fourth-straight win with a 5-4 victory over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference baseball action at Lou Gorman Field this afternoon.

Sophomore lefthander Timothy Flight (Portsmouth, R.I./Portsmouth) took the loss for SNHU (4-2), allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits with eight strikeouts and four walks over 6.1 innings.

Stonehill scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to erase a one-run deficit and claim the win. Sophomore James DeAlto (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff) led off with a single through the right side, stole second, and scored on a single to left center by Hackett. White singled to chase Flight and send Hackett to third and he scored on a wild pitch on the first offering from SNHU senior righthander Bryant Gauthier (Lynn, Mass./Lynn Classical). The Skyhawks would go on to load the bases, but couldn't push another run across.

Stonehill opened the scoring in the first as senior Nick Nardacci (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) led off with a walk, was sacrificed to second by Hackett, stole second and scored when White reached on an error. Southern New Hampshire tied the game in the third on a one out solo home run by Rines in the third.

Stonehill answered right back with a pair of runs in the home half of the third. Hackett walked and White singled before the pair executed a delayed double steal of home and second to regain the lead. Bruno singled to left center and then scored on a throwing error.

SNHU got a run back in the fourth with Boulter's solo homer with one out and then took the lead with a pair of runs in the fifth. Rines was hit by a Haughn pitch to lead off the fifth, was sacrificed to second and scored on a single to left center by Stanton. Boulter drove in Stanton with a two out single to center to put the Penmen in front before the Skyhawks winning rally in the seventh.
