Skyhawks Finish Off St. Michael's In Three Sets

Colchester, Vt. - The Skyhawks used a balanced attack to take down St. Michael's on Friday night for their second straight 3-0 victory this week. 

The Purple Knights tied the first set up at three but the Skyhawks didn't allow St. Michael's to get within two the rest of the set and finished with a 25-18 victory. 

In the second set Stonehill didn't even allow their opponent to tie the match as they won 25-19.

The final set saw the Skyhawks once again take control from the onset as they hit their way to a 25-17 victory.

Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) had 12 kills for the Skyhawks, while Laura Noonan (Hampstead, N.H.) and Anna Barczak (Ridgefield, Conn.) had nine and eight kills respectively. 

Therese Mance (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the defensive charge with 12 digs, while Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) added 10 and a team high 37 assists. 

With the win Stonehill improves to 14-9, their highest win total in 11 years, and 2-6 in conference play. 

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they face off against St. Anselm at 11:00 am.
