Easton, Mass. - Behind 12 service aces and good defense the Skyhawks halted a two game losing streak, beating Endicott 3-0 at Merkert Gym on Monday evening.

Stonehill fell behind early but used 10-0 run midway through the first set to distance themselves from the Gulls and win the first set 25-16. 

In the second set the Skyhawks played Endicott even for the first half of the set before going on a 4-0 to put the match out of reach and come away with a 25-19 win.  

Stonehill was helped by service aces and good passing in the third set, recording a .286 attack percentage with only five errors to come away with a 25-18 victory. 

Freshman Michelle Thornhill (Canyon Lake, Calif.) was a triple threat for the Skyhawks as she had 11 kills, four service aces and seven digs.  

Sophomore's Laura Noonan (Hampstead, N.H.) and Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) provided the defense for Stonehill. 

Noonan had five and half blocks and three kills, while Wirth added a team high nine digs to go along with 21 assists for the Skyhawks, who improve to 11-8 on the season. 

Stonehill returns to action when they travel to Aldephi on Saturday, October 11 with their match beginning at 1:00 pm.
