NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-- Sophomore Ale Kuncaitis (Canton, Mass.) and freshman Jordan Giboney (West Linn, Ore.) each recorded 17 kills as Merrimack rallied from a two-game deficit to post a 3-2 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball victory over Stonehill Tuesday evening at the Volpe Complex.

The host Warriors (2-5, 1-2 Northeast-10) dropped the first two games by identical 30-26 scores but rallied to force a fifth and deciding game by taking the next two by identical 30-24 margins, as Merrimack won the match with a 15-9 triumph in that fifth contest.

Giboney added 25 digs in the win for the Warriors, who also received 17 digs each from Kuncaitis and senior Briana Kane (Dix Hills, N.Y.). Freshman Kerry Shannon (Manassas, Va.) and senior Danielle Romeo (Middleton, Mass.) combined for 49 set assists as well for Merrimack.

Sophomore Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) registered a career-high 26 kills in the setback for the visiting Skyhawks (0-5, 0-2 Northeast-10), who also received a career-best 14 kills from sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.). Junior Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) notched a career-high 24 digs on the night for Stonehill, which also received 13 digs from sophomore Patricia Godio (East Rockaway, N.Y.) as well as 43 set assists and seven digs from freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.).

Stonehill heads to Smithfield, R.I. on Friday evening for a non-league tri-match with both Bryant and Bridgeport that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Merrimack hosts Saint Anselm in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon at the Volpe Complex that begins at 1:00 p.m.
