EASTON, Mass.-- Freshman Caitlynn Parnell (Medina, Tex.) recorded 13 kills and 10 digs to lead Franklin Pierce to a 3-0 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball victory over Stonehill by game scores of 30-19, 30-21 and 30-28 in the league opener for both teams Wednesday evening at Merkert Gymnasium.

Sophomore Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, Va.) added seven kills for the visiting Ravens (3-1, 1-0 Northeast-10), who also received six kills and six digs from sophomore Emily Schultz (Salem, N.H.) as well as 26 set assists, eight digs and four kills from sophomore Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif.).

Sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.) paced the host Skyhawks (0-4, 0-1 Northeast-10) with 10 kills in the setback, while junior Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) added eight kills and 14 digs. Freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.) collected six kills and 21 set assists for Stonehill, which also received six kills each from sophomores Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) and Jackie Foster (Arlington, Mass.).

Stonehill will be idle until next Tuesday evening when the Skyhawks head to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack in a Northeast-10 outing at 7:00 p.m., while Franklin Pierce will also be idle until next Tuesday night when the Ravens travel to Waltham, Mass. to take on Bentley in a league match at 7:00.
