SMITHFIELD, R.I.-- The Stonehill volleyball team dropped a pair of non-league matches to both host Bryant and Bridgeport by identical 3-0 finals Friday evening at the Chace Athletic Center. The Skyhawks fell to the Bulldogs by game scores of 30-22, 30-21 and 30-21, while Stonehill fell to the Purple Knights by game scores of 30-24, 30-27 and 30-26.

Sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.) paced the Skyhawks in the opener against Bryant with eight kills, three service aces and three block assists, while fellow sophomore Jackie Foster (Arlington, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills for Stonehill, which also received 27 set assists from freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.).

Sophomore Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) registered 17 kills and 12 digs in the second match setback to Bridgeport, while Hordern added 31 set assists, nine digs and seven kills for the Skyhawks, who also received 11 digs from sophomore Patricia Godio (East Rockaway, N.Y.).

Stonehill, which falls to 0-7 on the season, hosts Molloy and Southern New Hampshire in a non-league tri-match on Saturday morning at Merkert Gymnasium that begins at 11:00 a.m.
