Indoor Season

2012-13: NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). NE-10 Field Athlete of the Week (2/12). NE-10 Field Rookie of the Week (12/10, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/12). USTFCCCA East Region Team (Weight Throw). Appeared at seven events for the Skyhawks during the 2012-13 indoor track and field season. Posted two top-two finishes in throwing events at the Reggie Poyau Invitational (12/7/12), claiming 1st place in the weight throw event (47-06.50) and 2nd place in the shot put event (37-06.75). Placed in both the shot put and the weight throw events at the URI Sorlien Invitational (12/19/12). Launched a 35-02.50 feet throw to place 8th in the shot put before winning the weight throw with a school-record throw of 52-05.50. Took 6th place in the weight throw (50-02.50) at Northeastern University’s Joe Donahue Games (1/25/13). Claimed 3rd in the weight throw event, measuring in at 51-03.75 feet, at the URI Coaches Tribute Meet (2/2/13). Launched a 51-05.75 throw in the weight throw event to take 2nd place at the Tufts University Cupid Challenge (2/11/13). Placed 3rd with a throw of 49-00.75 at the NE-10 Championships (2/16/13). Competed at the New England Championships, measuring a 45-10.00 throw to take 18^th place (2/22/13). Thornton Named to USTFCCCA East Region Team. Thornton Named NE-10 Field Rookie Of The Week. Thornton Earns Second NE-10 Field Rookie Of The Week Award. Thornton Takes Home Third NE-10 Field Rookie Of The Week Honor. Thornton Collects Third Consecutive NE-10 Field Rookie Of The Week Nod. Thornton Earns NE-10 Accolades For Fourth Straight Week.

Outdoor Season

2013: Threw in the discus, shot put, and hammer throw events for the Skyhawks in the outdoor season. Placed 13th in the discus at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational (3/23) with a throw of 97-6.00, a personal best. Finished 11th at Northeast-10 Championship (5/3-4) with a throw of 91-8.00. Participated in the hammer throw three times, but finished two events by fouling out. The lone event producing a total was a throw of 111-00.00 at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational. Threw 25-1.75 in the shot put (9^th) at Skyhawk Invitational (4/26).

High School: 2012 graduate of John D. O'Bryant High School. Competed in the Nike Indoor Nationals for two consecutive years in the weight throw. Competed in the New Balance Indoor Nationals for two consecutive years in the weight throw. Awarded January 2012 Athlete of the Month.

Personal: Born on April 16, 1993 in Boston, Mass. Daughter of Robert Pitts and Stephanie Thornton. Has two siblings, Ashley (24) and Antiah (12). Favorite sport team is the New England Patriots.
