Barbetta and Kump both earn All-Conference honors for singles and doubles

EASTON, Mass. (November 5, 2015) – Four members of the Northeast-10 Conference finalist Stonehill College women's tennis program have earned a combined five All-Conference honors for their performances during the league season.

Senior Analise Kump (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and sophomore Victoria Barbetta (Wesley Chapel, Florida/Saddlebrook Prep) led Stonehill's All-Northeast-10 performers by earning the honors for both singles and doubles. Sophomore Emma Prinos (Foxboro, Massachusetts/Foxboro) and freshman Nicole Downey (Groveland, Massachusetts/Pentucket Regional) round out the Skyhawks All-Conference list with singles honors, while Downey was also selected to the NE-10's All-Rookie Team by the Conference's head coaches.

Barbetta earns All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time in her career after being selected to the All-Rookie team as a freshman, by earning first team honors at No. 3 singles as well as second team accolades along with Kump at No. 2 doubles. Barbetta was a combined 31-6 in singles and doubles play over the course of the fall season, including a perfect 11-0 in NE-10 singles play. She posted a 17-2 singles record overall, including identical 7-0 marks at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, finishing the fall with a ten match win streak.

Barbetta and Kump posted a 12-4 doubles record this fall, including 7-2 in NE-10 matches. The duo went 10-3 in dual matches at No. 2 doubles for the Skyhawks, winning their last four matches. It marks the third All-Northeast-10 doubles performance for Kump over her Stonehill career, having collected second team honors at No. 2 doubles, along with Prinos, as a junior and third team accolades at No. 3 along with fellow senior Bailey Paradiso (Birmingham, Michigan/Marian) their freshman year.

Kump also earned second team All-NE-10 honors at No. 2 singles for Stonehill, marking her first career All-Conference nod in singles play. Kump, a two-time NE-10 All-Championship team selection and MVP of the 2014 NE-10 Championship, has posted a combined 24-6 record in singles and doubles play so far during her senior season. She posted a 9-1 mark in NE-10 play, going 6-0 at No. 3 and 5-2 at No. 2, having won her last ten singles matches as well.

Barbetta has posted a combined record of 58-23 in singles and doubles play through the first year and a half of her career. She is 31-10 in singles play, including a 21-2 mark in the NE-10, to go with a 27-13 doubles record, going 17-5 in the NE-10. Kump has posted a combined record of 132-45 in singles and doubles play over her career, including a 70-14 record in NE-10 play. She has a 64-25 career singles mark, including 32-8 in Conference play, to go with a 68-20 career doubles record, including 38-6 in the NE-10.

Prinos earns first team All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time in her career at No. 4 singles, having collected second team honors at No. 2 doubles with Kump and third team honors at No. 3 singles as a freshman when she was also named to the All-Rookie Team. Prinos is 10-4 in singles play this season, having gone 8-1 in NE-10 matches, with a 5-1 mark at No. 4. Prinos, winner of eight straight singles matches, is 22-13 in singles play over her first season and a half at Stonehill, including an 18-3 mark in NE-10 matches.

Downey's position on the All-Northeast-10 third team for No. 5 singles caps a standout freshman season, in which she also won the B-singles draw at the USTA/ITA Division II East Regional in September. Downey is 16-2 in singles play so far during her first collegiate season, including a 7-1 mark in NE-10 matches. She is 3-0 for No. 6 singles and 4-2 at No 5. Downey is 13-3 for doubles this fall, including a 9-1 mark in NE-10 matches, combining with senior Kirsti Toegemann (Narragansett, Rhode Island/The Lincoln School) for a 7-3 record, including 4-1 in the NE-10.

Stonehill (13-4, 10-2 NE-10) reached the Northeast-10 Championship match for the second straight year and tenth time in program history overall this fall. The Skyhawks are ranked sixth in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings. Stonehill will announce its spring schedule in the coming weeks.
