Catherine Cassidy is in her second season as assistant coach with the women's basketball program at Stonehill.

Cassidy joined Stonehill after two years as assistant women’s basketball coach at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York. She assisted head coach Bob DiNardo is all facets over his first two years in charge of The Wave, including organizing practice plans, scouting opponents and recruiting. Cassidy monitored the program’s academic progress and created and implemented the team’s strength and conditioning workouts.

“We are thrilled to have Catherine joining our staff at Stonehill,” said head coach Trisha Brown at the time of her hiring. “She was a proven leader at Plattsburgh, and a phenomenal competitor. Her two seasons at Kingsborough have given her great experience in all aspects of college coaching. This experience, as well as her background in strength and conditioning, make her a perfect addition to our program.”

Cassidy is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Plattsburg, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in fitness & wellness, where she was a four year member of the women’s basketball program, serving as team captain for three seasons. She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and earned All-Academic Team honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC). She still ranks third in program history with 351 career assists for the Cardinals.

In addition to her position as assistant coach at Kingsborough, Cassidy was a personal trainer and floor lead trainer at 92nd Street Y-May Center for Health, Fitness and Sport in New York City. She also worked previously as a personal trainer at the SUNY Plattsburgh Fitness Center and was a strength & conditioning intern for the volleyball team at Plattsburgh. Cassidy is an ACSM and AFAA certified personal trainer.
