Johnna Brown is entering her second year as assistant coach with the Stonehill women's basketball program.

Brown, a niece to head coach Trisha Brown, joins her aunt's coaching staff after serving assistant coaching stints at fellow NCAA Division II programs Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Notre Dame De Namur in Belmont, California. She spent one season at Notre Dame De Namur where she assisted head coach Angela Kristensen with daily practices and game management. Brown was responsible for student-athlete academic progress and the Argonauts weight training program.

Brown had joined the coaching staff at Academic of Art in February, prior to coming to Stonehill, assisting in the Urban Knights scouting and recruitment of prospective student-athletes and opponents. She supervised the team's academic progress and scheduled team travel.

Brown was a two-sport student-athlete at Dixie State University in Saint George, Utah, where she was a 2013 graduate and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human communication. She completed her collegiate career at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2015 while she earned her Master's Degree in Leadership.
