Easton, Mass. - 2007-08 Northeast-10 Coach of the Year, Trish Brown has announced the six incoming student-athletes that will join the Skyhawks this fall. Laura Discenza (Shelton, Conn.), Priscilla Dodoo (Worcester, Mass.), Cori O'Kane (Pocassett, Mass.), Kristen Peck (Lakeville, Mass.), Emily Rousseau (Biddeford, Maine) and Tania Williams (East Setauket, N.Y.) will be added to a roster that won 27 games a season ago en route to both the Northeast-10 regular season and tournament titles. In addition to the new arrivals, Stonehill returns its top three scorers from its team last year, including All-American junior Kelsey Simonds.

At Lauralton Hall: Three-year letterwinner ... Also served as team captain in senior season ... Named Connecticut Post All-State Honorable Mention ... Helped lead squad to Southwest Colonial League title as a senior ... Three-time recipient of the National Association of Secondary School Principals' Citizenship Award ... Also earned four letters in golf. 

Coach Brown on Laura Discenza:
"Laura is just scratching the surface of her abilities. She is extremely coachable and has an outstanding work ethic which allows her to improve each time she steps on the court. She has excellent strength in the post which will be an asset at both ends and very good touch around the basket. As her back-to-the-basket skills develop she could become a very good scorer."

At Worcester Burncoat: Four-year letterwinner ... Named to the 2008 Worcester Telegram & Gazette Division I All-Star team ... Named Inter-High League All-Star ... Team's leading scorer her senior season ... Member of the National Honor Society.

Coach Brown on Priscilla Dodoo:
"Priscilla will be the most athletic player in the program as a freshman. She has incredible speed and quickness and explosive moves in the front court with an amazing ability to get to the rim. As her perimeter skills develop and she gets comfortable with the college game she will impact both ends of the floor."

Coach Brown on Cori O'Kane:
"Cori brings great leadership skills to her role as point guard, including excellent court presence and composure. With her court vision and exceptional passing ability, she has a phenomenal ability to create for others. She loves to push the ball in transition and is very good in the open court. Her size at the point will help her at both ends of the floor. She is a very passionate player who brings excellent experience from a very successful high school career."

Kristen Peck / 5-6 / Guard / Lakeville, Mass. / Apponequet
At Apponequet High: Four-year letterwinner ... Served as team captain her junior and senior seasons ... Averaged 10 points, 4.5 rebounds, four assists and three steals as a senior ... Nominated for the MIAA Outstanding Female Athlete Award ... Recipient of the South Coast Conference Sportsmanship Award ... South Coast Conference All Star Honorable Mention Honoree ... Named to the New Bedford Standard Times Super Team ... Also earned Standard Times and Taunton Gazette All-Scholastic honors ... Earned four letters in soccer, two in softball and one in track and field ... Student Council class representative.

Coach Brown on Kristen Peck:
"Kristen is a tough and scrappy guard who will make us better with her work ethic. She can knock down the three and is also comfortable putting the ball on the floor. A fantastic attitude combined with excellent competitiveness equals unlimited potential for her in our program." 

Emily Rousseau / 5-9 / Guard / Biddeford, Maine / Biddeford / UMaine-Orono
Prior To Stonehill: Played one season at the University of Maine (2007-08) ... Appeared in 23 contests, making 16 starts for the Black Bears ... Averaged 8.1 points and 3.0 rebounds ... Made 34 percent of her three-pointers ... Twice named America East Rookie of the Week ... Named to the Hurricane Holiday Classic All-Tournament team. 

At Biddeford High: Four-year letterwinner ... Served as a team captain during her junior and senior seasons ... Three-time all-state selection ... Three-time Southern Maine Athletic Association All-Star ... Led the SMAA in scoring as a senior (21.6 ppg) ... Four-time team MVP  ... School's all-time leading scorer (1,554) ... Also earned three letters in softball and helped lead the Tigers to two state championships ... Named to the 2006-07 McDonald's All-Star Team ... National Honor Society member ... Graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Coach Brown on Emily Rousseau:
"Emily has the ability to step into the program and make an immediate impact. She already has a year of Division 1 college basketball under her belt, where she made major contributions as a freshman. She is a natural leader at the point guard position and will bring tremendous athleticism to the guard spot."

Tania Williams / 5-11 / Forward / South Setauket, N.Y. / Ward Melville
At Ward-Melville High: Four-year letterwinner ... Served as captain all four years ... 1,000 point scorer ... Averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and five assists as a senior ... Second team All-Island as a senior ... Named New York State Sportswriters and Coaches Organization All-State ... All-Suffolk County honoree as a senior ... Won four letters in volleyball while serving as captain for four seasons ... Also earned four letters in track and field and captained the team for three seasons.

 Coach Brown on Tania Williams:
"Tania brings a tremendous work ethic and excellent communication skills to the small forward position. She is an extremely active defender with fantastic shot blocking ability and runs the floor very well. She has incredible potential as she gets comfortable in our system."
