Indianapolis, Ind. - Tenth-ranked Stonehill, ehich has won its last 13 games, drew the second seed in the Northeast Region and will face a familiar foe - seventh seeded Bryant - in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament Championship it was announced on Sunday evening by the Division II Women's Basketball Committee.
The Skyhawks, who captured the Northeast-10 Tournament Championship earlier in the day with a 90-79 win over the Bulldogs, are making their 18th appearance in the tournament and third straight under seventh-year head coach Trish Brown.
The game will be played in Philadelphia with top seeded Holy Family serving as the tournament host.
In all, five Northeast-10 teams were selected, with another Northeast-10 matchup taking place between Assumption and Bentley.
The game between Stonehill and Bryant will take place on Friday at a time to be determined. The winner will face the winner of the Franklin Pierce-Dominican (N.Y.) matchup.
Stonehill and Bryant met in the tournament in 2004 in the regional semifinals. The Bulldogs prevailed, 70-55.
