Caldwell, N.J. - Trailing 33-32 at halftime, Stonehill went on a back-breaking 19-7 run midway through the second half to break open a close contest and cruise to a 78-57 win over host Caldwell on Saturday afternoon at the George Newman Center.

Stonehill actually held a 10 point lead in the first half at 32-22, but the Cougars closed the final three minutes on an 11-0 run, aided by four Skyhawk turnovers and a layup by Janay Perkins in the waning seconds.

The second half started off with a basket by either team for the first two minutes until Simonds broke the scoring drought with a layup to give Stonehill the lead again. The lead would change hands two more times before the Skyhawks scored 19 of the next 26 points to take control of the game.

Stonehill held the Cougars to just 29 percent from the field in the second half, while they heated up connecting at a 53 percent clip.

The Skyhawks had four players in double figures led by sophomore Megan Methven (Corning, N.Y.) and junior Kelsey Simonds (Middleboro, Mass.) who each had 18 points. Simonds added a game-high 12 rebounds, four assists and four blocks for her third straight double-double while Methven dropped in five for nine from three point range.
