Disney's Wide World of Sports, Orlando, Fla.

FINAL: STONEHILL 82, FELICIAN 41

ORLANDO, Fla.-- Senior Alisha Collins (Port Chester, N.Y.) became the 21st player in school history to reach the 1,000 career point plateau with 19 points in leading Stonehill to an 82-41 non-league college women's basketball victory over Felician in second round play of the 2006 Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Collins reached the milestone plateau with a lay-in that came with 8:29 to play in the first half, as she becomes the first Skyhawk to reach that mark since Andrea Barr did so in March 2004. Stonehill, 2-0 on the young season, scored 13 of the game's first 15 points and led by as many as 27 points in the opening 20 minutes of play before settling for a 47-21 advantage at the break, and the Skyhawks shot 52 percent from the field after intermission to maintain no less than a 26-point edge in the second half while leading by as many as 43 points in the closing minutes.

Collins was one of four players in double figures for Stonehill, as freshman Megan Methven (Corning, N.Y.) came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points and dish off four assists. Junior Meghan Driscoll (Bridgewater, Mass.) also enjoyed a career-best performance with 12 points and nine rebounds in just 15 minutes of play, while sophomore Bethany Tighe (North Easton, Mass.) added 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, both career high efforts.

Each player in the Skyhawk lineup scored at least two points on the day, as Stonehill shot just under 50 percent (31-63) from the field for the afternoon and held a commanding 32-8 scoring edge in points off turnovers. The Skyhawks held a 48-36 rebounding edge for the contest and amassed 50 points in the paint, as the Stonehill bench outscored the entire Felician lineup by one point (42-41) in presenting Head Coach Trisha Brown with her 98th career victory, tying her for second place on the Skyhawk career wins list with Kelly Hart.

Junior Crystal Ferrer (Bronx, N.Y.) notched a double-double effort of 10 points and 10 rebounds in the setback for the Golden Falcons (0-2), who also received nine points off the bench from sophomore Krystal Dixon (Somerset, N.J.). Felician shot just 24 percent from the field for the day and committed 22 turnovers.

Stonehill closes out play at the 2006 Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic on Sunday afternoon when the Skyhawks square off with 11th-ranked West Texas A&M in a non-league outing that begins at 2:00 p.m., while Felician will face Augustana (S.D.) in its final contest at the Disney Tip-Off Classic on Sunday beginning at Noon.
