Rudowitz Named Northeast-10 Co-Player Of The Week

South Easton, Mass. - A.J. Rudowitz (Monroe Township, N.J.) has been named Northeast-10 co-player of the week, it has been announced by the Conference office on Monday afternoon.

Rudowitz averaged 27.5 points and nine rebounds in two games last week as the No. 13 Skyhawks extended their winning streak to ten games.

The award marks the first time a Stonehill men's player has earned the award since Nick Smith (Colonia, N.J.) won the award in three consecutive weeks back in December of 2006 and January of 2007.

In a down-to-the-wire 59-56 win over Pace, he had 17 points and three rebounds on 7-for-13 shooting.

Then, in a 73-72 win over Merrimack, he pumped in a career-high 38 points, matched his career best with 15 rebounds and sank the game-winning shot as time expired.

The 30+ point performance is the most by a Stonehill men's player since Evan Pellerin dropped in 32 in a win over St. Michael's on December 19, 2004 - a span of 130 games.

For the week he shot 69 percent from the floor and added four assists in 65 total minutes.

New Haven's Cassius Chaney, who averaged 31.5 points, six rebounds, two assists and one block per game in a 1-1 week, shares the honor with Rudowitz.

Now with 982 career points, Rudowitz is just 18 points shy of becoming the 31st member of the 1,000 point club.

Stonehill (16-2 overall, 11-2 in the Northeast-10) returns to action on Wednesday when they host Bentley at 7:30 p.m.
