Skyhawks Ranked In Regional Poll

North Easton, Mass. - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its regional rankings for both men's and women's basketball on Wednesday and both Stonehill squads earned a slot on the Northeast Region list.

The women, under the tutelage of seventh-year head coach Trish Brown, sit at 15-4 overall and are ranked second behind Holy Family of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). They are 14-3 against teams in the Northeast Region and are ranked 19th in the latest ESPN/USA Today Poll.

The men, meanwhile are 13-8 overall and are ranked fifth in the region. Of the four teams ahead of them - Bentley, Assumption, C.W. Post and St. Rose - three hail from the Northeast-10. The Skyhawks also have a home game against Bentley and a road contest at Assumption in the coming weeks that could bolster their profile.

Regional rankings, compiled by the NCAA Division II Basketball Committee, will be released weekly for the remainder of the season.
