EASTON, Mass. (November 7, 2013) – Stonehill College, ranked fifth in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II poll, has placed five student-athletes on the All-Northeast-10 Conference first and second teams, while two have also earned All-Rookie Team status, as voted by the league's 12 head coaches.

Senior back Gina Sheehan (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) headlines Stonehill's five All-Northeast-10 picks by being named the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year. She is the fourth Stonehill defender to earn the award and the third under head coach Shelly Morris in her six seasons as head coach at the College. Courtney Foley, '11, is the last Skyhawk to receive the award in 2011, while Stephanie Kott, '10, being named in 2009 and Libby Hannah, '04, as the first Stonehill student-athlete to receive the award in 2003.

Joining Sheehan on the All-NE-10 first team are senior midfielder Devin Ingersoll (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) and sophomore forward Erika Kelly (Watertown, Mass./Watertown), a unanimous selection among the Conference's head coaches. Senior midfielder Kelsey Davis (Gardner, Mass./Gardner) and junior Emily Sideris (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) were both selected to the second team. Also collecting postseason recognition were sophomore forward Lauren Giordano (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) and freshman midfielder Shea Healy (Greenfield, Mass./Pioneer Valley), who were both selected to the NE-10's All-Rookie Team. Stonehill's five All-Conference picks are the most since six Skyhawks earned the honors in 2010.

Sheehan, who earns All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time in her caree, in addition to her Defensive Player of the Year award, leads a Stonehill defensive unit which ranks fourth in the NE-10 and eighth nationally in Division II with a 1.65 team goals against average. The Skyhawks defense is limiting opponents to 11.0 shots, including 7.3 on goal, and 6.3 penalty corners per game and ranks fourth in the NE-10 with three shutouts. Sheehan has recorded one defensive save this season and has chipped in with a pair of assists.

Sheehan, who was named to both the womensfieldhockey.com Division II and NE-10 All-Rookie teams as a freshman, has started all 81 of Stonehill's games over her four year career at the College. She has dished out five career assists and posted four defensive saves and been a key part of a Skyhawks defensive unit which is regularly ranked among the best in the Conference. Sheehan has earned Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad honors as a sophomore and junior and been named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll all six semesters so far and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll five semesters.

Ingersoll earns All-Northeast-10 first team honors for the second-straight year. She has started all 19 games this season and leads the team with 11 assists to go with three goals for 17 points. Two of her three goals this fall are game winners and she has also chipped in with a defensive save. Ingersoll ranks fourth in the NE-10 and 11th nationally for assists. She posted a season-high two goals in a 4-2 win at Saint Michael's College on September 14 and registered four points with a goal and two assists in a 6-1 win at Franklin Pierce University on October 23.

Ingersoll, who has also started all 81 of Stonehill's games over her four year career, earned Longstreth/NFHCA All-America second team honors as a junior and also collected Capital One Academic All-District and NE-10 Academic All-Conference honors for the first time. She has totaled 22 goals and 20 assists for 64 points over her collegiate career with seven gamewinners. Ingersoll posted a team-high 25 points her junior year with a team-best 12 goals to go with one assist. She ranks tenth in program history for career points and is tied for sixth all-time for career assists.

Ingersoll was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2010 and was also a womensfieldhockey.com Division II and NE-10 All-Rookie team selection. She has been named to the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad three years to date and has earned NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status all six semesters and Athletic Director's Honor Roll five times.

Kelly earns All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time with her unanimous first team selection. She has taken the Conference by storm in her second season at Stonehill, leading Division II with a program and Conference record 34 goals to go with two assists for a program-record 70 points. She ranks second nationally and in the NE-10 for scoring and her point total is the third-highest in NE-10 history – six shy of the Conference record of 76 set by Sammy Macy from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2010, but also trailing LIU Post's Carlee Dragon, the NE-10 Player of the Year, who leads the country with 75 points.

Kelly, who is six goals shy of the NCAA Division II record of 40 by Jamie Vanartsdalen of Bloomsburg (Pa.) University in 2008, has posted a school-record six hat tricks this season and leads the NE-10 with nine gamewinning goals. She has recorded at least a point in 16 of her 18 games played this year. Kelly has been named the NE-10 Player of the Week on three occasions this fall and netted a career-best four goals in wins over 9th-ranked East Stroudsburg University on September 8 and Southern Connecticut State University on October 19. She has registered 11 multi-goal games and has accounted for 45-percent of Stonehill's scoring output this season.

Kelly, an NE-10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman, has started 24 of her 37 career games played over two seasons at Stonehill. She is already tied for fourth all-time in program history with her 42 career goals, just 11 shy of the career record of 52 set by Caitlin Gleason, '08. Kelly has also dished out four career assists and ranks sixth in program history with 88 career points.

Davis earns All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time with her second team selection. She is second on the team with her career-high eight assists this season to go with a pair of goals for 12 points. Davis has also posted a defensive save and recorded a six game point streak early in the season.

Davis, an NE-10 All-Rookie team selection as a freshman has been a solid two-way contributor for Stonehill at both the offensive and defensive ends. She has started all 81 games the Skyhawks have played over her four year career and she has contributed ten goals and 18 assists for 38 career points. Davis contributed a career-best 14 points in 2012, with a career-high four goals, including a gamewinner, and six assists. She has earned NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status five semesters and Athletic Director's Honor Roll four semesters.

Sideris earns All-Northeast-10 second team honors for the second straight year. She is fourth on the team with her career-best seven goals to go with two assists for 16 points. Two of her seven goals this season are gamewinners and she has a goal in five of the Skyhawks last seven games, including seven points (3 gls/ast) over the last two games. Sideris notched her first career multi-goal game with two goals at 4th-ranked LIU Post on Saturday.

Sideris, a second team Longstreth/NFHCA All-American last year, has started 23 of the 32 games she has played over her three year career at Stonehill. She has posted 11 goals, three gamewinners, and six assists for 28 points over her career. Sideris has earned Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA National Academic Squad honors twice and received NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll status all four semesters to date.

Giordano earns NE-10 All-Rookie team honors after enjoying a breakout year for Stonehill. She has appeared in all 19 games this season and is second on the team with ten goals to go with three assists for 23 points to rank third on the team in scoring. Giordano was named the NE-10 Rookie of the Week on October 7 and notched her first career hat trick in a 7-0 win over Dowling College on October 27. She also ranks tenth in the NE-10 for goals scored and 14th in points.

Healy also earns All-Rookie team honors for Stonehill. She has appeared in 17 games as a freshman and has posted a goal and two assists for four points. Healy scored her first collegiate goal in an October 19 win over Southern Connecticut State and added assists in wins over Franklin Pierce University (10/23) and Dowling (10/27).

Stonehill has now placed nine first year players on the NE-10's All-Rookie Team since the Conference started the award in 2008 and has had 43 All-Conference selections, including 19 on the first team, all-time.

Stonehill (17-2, 8-2 NE-10), ranked second in this week's NCAA Division II North Regional rankings, is back in action tomorrow when it visits 7th-ranked Merrimack College, ranked third in the region, for a Northeast-10 Semifinal matchup at 4 p.m. The winner advances to Sunday's NE-10 Championship (1 p.m.) to face either top-seeded and 3rd-ranked LIU Post or fourth-seeded Adelphi University.
