Three in a Row for Stonehill at Brandeis Home Show

Dwyer latest Skyhawk to regionally qualify as riders win for third-straight week

HOLLISTON, Mass. (March 20, 2010) – Stonehill College posted a first place team finish for the third-straight week by taking first at the Brandeis Home Show at August Farm today. The Skyhawks posted 43 team points to lead the field of 12 teams and edge second-place Boston College with 40 points. Wheaton College and Boston University tied for third with 31 points each.

Sophomore Christine Dwyer (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) joined Stonehill’s list of regional qualifiers by accomplishing the feat in novice flat, while also posting a first place finish in novice fences.

Junior Alisha Wielgoszinski (Amherst, N.H./Brewster Academy) won her walk-trot-canter class, while senior Kelsey Hill (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine/Foxcroft Academy) placed first for intermediate flat. Sophomore Rebecca Rossi (Cranston, R.I./Bay View Academy) won her novice fences class and classmate Nina Crossley (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) was first for walk-trot-canter.

Other highlights for Stonehill today included:

Senior Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho Regional) was second for both open flat and open fences.

Junior Kayla Schneider (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) was second for intermediate fences.

Stonehill looks to run its winning streak to four weeks next Saturday when it hosts its spring home show at Dry Water Farm in Stoughton at 9 a.m.
