BETHLEHEM, Pa. (October 4, 2014) – The Stonehill College women's cross country team, ranked 22^nd in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II poll, and ranked first in the East Region, returned to action today with a 31^st place finish at the Paul Short Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Stonehill received personal best performances from each of its top five finishers today, led by sophomore Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North). The 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year placed 105^th overall in 21:46, topping her previous personal best of 23:06 set at last year's NE-10 Championship.

Classmate Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown) finished 158^th, completing the six-kilometer course in 22:12 to improve on her career best time of 23:44 from last season's DII/DIII Challenge, while freshman Emily Knox (Worcester, Massachusetts/Notre Dame Academy) earned a 22:21 mark, good for 186^th overall.

Seniors Erin Rielly (Burlington, Massachusetts/Burlington) and Emily Anderson (Manchester, Connecticut/Manchester) finished 190^th and 191^st, respectively, just one second apart. Rielly clocked in at 22:23 and Anderson followed right behind in 22:24.

Sophomore Alexandra Buonfiglio (Lynnfield, Massachusetts/Lynnfield) crossed the finish line 202^nd with a time of 22:29, while senior Brianna Venturo (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle & Cassidy) finished 241^st in 22:48.

Stonehill's final participant in the gold race, Brittany Venturo (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle & Cassidy), placed 283^rd overall with a time of 23:19.

Competing in a field of primarily Division I and top Division II programs, Stonehill finished 31^st out of 38 teams today with 770 points. The University of Guelph finished first with 48 points, followed by Georgetown University (127 points) and Florida State University (145 points). Florida State senior Colleen Quigley won the individual title with a time of 19:49.

Freshman Julie Schultz (Billerica, Massachusetts/Billerica) led five Stonehill entries in the open race with her 93^rd place finish in 23:25. Classmate Kiera Murray (Falmouth, Maine/Cheverus) placed 106^th in 23:41, and junior Molly Hellman (Rumson, New Jersey/Rumson-Fair Haven Regional) earned a time of 23:56, good for 127^th overall.

Stonehill's final two participants, freshmen Abby Hersom (Rockland, Maine/Oceanside) and Madison McGlone (Bellmore, New York/John F. Kennedy) finished 199^th and 211^th, respectively, with times of 24:52 and 25:06.

Stonehill will be back in action next Saturday at the New England Championships, which will be held at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
