Venturo Recognized By NE-10 For Second-Straight Week

EASTON, Mass. (September 26, 2011) – Stonehill College freshman Brianna Venturo (Taunton, Mass./Coyle & Cassidy) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week, it was announced earlier today.

Venturo picks up her third weekly award from the conference on the season earning Athlete and Rookie of the Week honors on September 19 in addition to this week's accolade.

Last Saturday at the 32nd Annual Codfish Bowl in Dorchester, Mass. at Franklin Park, Venturo paced the Skyhawks to third place overall cruising through the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes and 12 seconds (11th place individually).

Venturo's time of 19:12 was the fastest among any Division II athletes at the invitational and fourth fastest among all collegiate athletes.

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday, October 8 at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. at 1:15 p.m.
