NE10 Volleyball Report: Week 4

EASTON, Mass. (September 18, 2018) – Stonehill College volleyball's freshman Lauren Wilke was named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Wilke was selected by the league for averaging 10.67 assists per set last week in a 1-1 week, including the Skyhawk's second 3-0 victory over Merrimack College. The freshman contributed a .364 hitting percentage in the two matches, while registering her fourth double-double of the season in the victory against the Warriors. The Blue Point, New York native also averaged 3.50 digs per set, chipped in three aces, and averaged 0.83 blocks per set.

Stonehill averaged their highest hitting percentage of the season with the win over Merrimack combining for a .432 hitting percentage, which Wilke totaled 38 assists and 23 digs.

Wilke earned her first-collegiate award from the Conference after assisting the Skyhawks to a 3-0 weekend hosting the Skyhawks Invitational. Stonehill swept Felician University, Georgian Court University, and Merrimack College with 3-0 scores.

The freshman from Blue Point, New York averaged 11.22 assists per set weekend, while also chipping in four service aces, 2.33 digs per set, and 0.22 blocks per set. In the 3-0 win over Felician, Wilke saw her highest hitting percentage with a .571 hitting clip, while also just shyly missing out on her fourth double-double with 33 assists and nine digs. With her 11.22 assists per set, the freshman led the team to a .303 hitting percentage

During the Skyhawks' 3-0 victory over Merrimack College, Stonehill saw a .433 hitting percentage, the highest in a set thus far, in both the first and second sets thanks to Lauren's consistency on the court.

In the six matches played this season, Wilke has registered four double-doubles and seven matches with 30 or more assists. Currently in the NE10, Wilke is ranked third in assists per set (10.06), 10th in aces per set (0.47), 19th in digs per set (3.09), and 30th in blocks per set (0.50).

Stonehill will travel to Rindge, New Hampshire for its lone contest of the week, as it faces Franklin Pierce University on Saturday, September 22 with a start time of 4:00 p.m.
