NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts (February 16, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's track and field team, ranked No. 1 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II East Regional Computer Rankings and 88th in the Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index, sits atop the Conference after day one of the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships that was at the Smith College Indoor Track Facility on Saturday.
The women's squad totaled 56 points and five All-Conference nods after day one to lead the Conference, while Assumption College has combined for 48 points and sits in second place. The College of Saint Rose follows with 31 points, as Southern Connecticut State College registered 29 points for fourth place and the University of New Haven rounds out the top five with 24 points.
Senior Colleen Perry kicked off the day with the first All-Conference honor, as she finished second in the Pentathlon totaling 3143 points, breaking her previous school record from last years' NE10 Indoor Championship. She finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a career best time of 9.61-seconds, and followed that with another second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 0.25 inches. In the shot put, Perry placed seventh overall with a toss of 30 feet, 11.25 inches and also finished seventh in the long jump with a career best distance of 15 feet, 10.25 inches. The final event, the 800-meter dash, the senior clocked in a career best time of 2:29.83 to earn her second-career All-Conference honor.
The 4000-meter distance medley relay team, consisting of Alyssa Freeman, Krista Fernandes, Jillian Caiazzi, and Anna Lastra saw the program's second-straight All-Conference nod and first-place finish at the Championships. Freeman kicked off the relay with an unofficial time of 3:42.15 in the 1200-meter leg, as Fernandes ran a 400-meter run in an unofficial 59.12-seconds. Caiazzi received the baton next for the 800-meter third leg, clocking in an unofficial time of 2:14.99, while Lastra ran the anchor mile leg in an unofficial time of 5:07.25.
In the pole vault, Alexandra Sexton earned her third All-Conference honor as she took home second place, while Ashley Colarusso placed third for her fifth-career All-Conference nod. Sexton cleared a career best height of 11 feet, 4.50 inches, as Colarusso reached a height of 11 feet, 0.75 inches, matching her career best.
Stonehill saw five Skyhawks earn points in the 5000-meter run, as senior Makenzie Cyr tallied her third track & field All-Conference honor with a time of 18:16.79. Jackie Cutillo followed in fourth with a career best time of 18:20.75 and Jordan Callahan finished in a career best time of 18:20.82, good for fifth place. Isabel Baker and Sam Curtin were the next Skyhawks across the finish line, as Baker placed sixth with a time of 18:31.98 and Curtin was right behind finishing in a career best time of 18:33.18, good for seventh.

Jesica Litwa and Shayla Lyons both earned points for Stonehill in the weight throw. Litwa through the weight throw a career best 49 feet, 11.75 inches taking home sixth place, while Lyons finished eighth with a career best toss of 47 feet, 4.50 inches.
Olivia Dexter is first after the preliminary 60-meter dash round clocking in a new school record time of 7.62-seconds. This mark also bests her NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time, moving her up to 20th on the performance list. Dexter also competed in the 200-meter dash, taking third out of 33 competitors with a time of 25.32-seconds to qualify for finals tomorrow. The senior lastly competed in the long jump finishing 12th out of 21 competitors with a mark of 17 feet, 2.25 inches.
Junior Sinead O'Brien finished 18th overall in the 60-meter sprint with a career best time of 8.12-seconds, and later placed 15th in the 200-meter run with another career best time of 25.99-seconds.
Zoe Smith, Casey Gannon, Savanna Macaluso, and Fernandes all qualified for finals in the 60-meter hurdles, as Smith led the way with a second-place finish with a new school record time of 8.92-seconds. Gannon finished the race in a career best 9.18-seconds, good for fifth out of 25 competitors, as Macaluso clocked in a career best time of 9.21-seconds and Fernandes in a career best 9.27-seconds, taking home seventh and eighth, respectively.
Stonehill continues competing at the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championships tomorrow, Sunday, February 17 at the Smith College Indoor Track Facility, with events starting at 9:00 a.m.
