20 Stonehill Women Combine to Earn 27 All-Region Honors

2018 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Honorees

EASTON, Mass. (May 16, 2018) – Twenty members of the Stonehill College women's track and field program have earned a combined 27 All-East Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events. Six out of the 20 Skyhawks earned their first-career All-East Region honor.

Junior Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/Union 32) combined for four All-East Region honors this outdoor season, bringing her career total to 10. This season, she broke two school records, including assisting the 4x100-meter relay team in breaking the mark. Her name is currently etched in the school records in six events, three indoor and three outdoor. The junior won the 100-meter dash at the NE10 Championships with her time of 11.95-seconds, a career best. She posted a time of 24.76, at the New England Championships in the 200-meter sprint for a season best time taking home third place. The East Calais, Vermont native also assisted the 4x100-meter relay team to a school record and first ever first-place finish at the outdoor NE10 Championships clocking in a time of 47.20-seconds. Dexter collected her third All-Conference honor during outdoor season at the NE10 Championships in the long jump with a career-best measurement of 19 feet, 1.25 inches, bypassing the NCAA provisional mark.

Senior Alison Tobin (Hudson, Massachusetts/Hudson) recorded her third and fourth All-East Region honor in the pole vault and the 4x100-meter relay. Tobin bypassed the NCAA provisional mark in the pole vault for her second-straight season as she has been accepted to compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, ranking 12th with a height of 12 feet, 9 inches. This measurement was recorded at the NE10 Championships, where she earned her second-straight individual title (indoor and outdoor) and broke her previous school record. The Hudson, Massachusetts native was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that currently holds the school record with a time of 47.20-seconds.

Senior Emily Knox (Worcester, Massachusetts/Notre Dame Academy) tallied two All-East Region marks this season, earning her ninth track and field accolade and 12th-career regional mark, including cross country honors. Knox posted two season bests in the 1500- and 5000-meter runs this outdoor season. With her time of 4:38.36 at the NE10 Championships, Knox was won the event, while her time of 17:35.46 earned her second place in the 5000-meter run.

Classmate Jillian Caiazzi (Marlborough, Massachusetts/Marborough) received her fourth and fifth All-East Region honor. Caiazzi posted a career best time of 2:14.02 in the 800-meter run at the New England Championships finishing 16th overall. She was the third Skyhawk across the finish line in the 1500-meter run at the NE10 Championships clocking in a career-best time of 4:41.88.

Elizabeth Hannon (Franklin, Massachusetts/Bishop Feehan) has tallied her sixth- and seventh-career All-Region honors, including two from cross country and indoor, this season. Hannon also posted career bests in the 800- and 1500-meter runs, where she crossed the finish line in 2:16.78 in the 800-meter run at the NE10 Championships good for third place. The Franklin, Massachusetts native's career-best time of 4:34.73 just missed out for All-New England Honors with a ninth-place finish.

Senior Gaelin Farrell (Baldwinville, Massachusetts/Narragansett Regional) collected her fifth-career All-East Region honor in shot put with her season best mark at the NE10 Championships of 43 feet, 1.75 inches finishing fourth overall.

Emily Polvere (Somers, New York/Somers) was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that holds the school record with their time of 47.20-seconds at the NE10 Championships. This was her first All-East Region honor of her career.

Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle and Cassidy) tallied her sixth-career regional honors in the 400-meter hurdles as she placed third overall for a season best time at the NE10 Championships clocking in at 1:04.60.

Junior Makenzie Cyr (Douglas, Massachusetts/Douglas) registered her second-career All-East Region accolade in track and field and her fifth career, including three in cross country. Cyr finished 23rd overall at the Colonial Relays in the 5000-meter run, clocking in a season best time of 18:03.92.

Junior Jackie Cutillo (Foxboro, Massachusetts/Bishop Feehan) placed 14th overall at the Colonial Relays with a career best time in the 10000-meter run of 38:45.48. This was her first-career All-East Region honor.

Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy) earned her seventh-career mark and sixth track and field All-East Region award this season with a top mark in the 1500-meter run. Lastra finished fifth at the Skyhawks Invitational clocking in a season best time of 4:39.70.

Sophomore Ashley Colarusso (Tewksbury, Massachusetts/Tewskbury) has received four-straight regional honors in the pole vault in her career, as she reached a height of 11 feet, 7.75 inches for a career best at the Silfen Invitational taking home the runner-up mark.

Shayla Lyons (Westerlo, New York/Bishop Maginn/Berne-Knox Westerlo), collected her first All-Region honor in the discus, and third-career accolade, as she threw a distance of 133 feet, 10 inches at the Skyhawk Invitational, where she finished second in the field.

Sophomore Jordan Callahan (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) ran a career-best time in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:24.78 tallying her first-career All-East Region honor.

Sophomore Madison Ward (Holliston, Massachusetts/Holliston) tallied her fourth-straight high jump honor in her career, as she cleared a height of 5 feet, 5 inches at the New England Championships taking home an All-New England honor with a sixth-place finish.

Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro) posted her third-career regional honor, clearing the bar at 5 feet, 4.5 inches at the Silfen Invitational. This mark was a season best for the junior as she took home second from the meet.

Sophomore Sinead O'Brien (Norwood, Massachusetts/Norwood) was also part of the 4x100-meter relay quartet that posted a time of 47.20 at the NE10 Championships, earning her first All-East Region accolade.

Classmate Zoe Smith (Rochester, Massachusetts/Old Rochester Regional) also collected her first All-East Region honor as she took home her first-career All-New England honor in the 100-meter hurdles clocking in a time of 14.73-seconds, good for eighth place.

Freshman Alexandra Sexton (Los Gatos, California/Los Gatos) saw her second All-East Region honor in the pole vault in her first outdoor season as a Skyhawk. Her mark at the NE10 Championship of 11 feet, 5.25 inches is a season best as she tallied her second-straight All-Conference honor with a third-place finish, where the Skyhawk pole vaulters swept the top-three spots.

Freshman Casey Gannon (Warwick, Rhode Island/Toll Gate) broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles that was set by Erin Carberry in 2016 at the New England Championships with her time of 1:03.51, taking home the runner-up mark and one of her three All-Conference marks. This was her first All-East Region honor.

The Stonehill women will cap its outdoor season from May 24-26 when its qualified individuals will compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, North Carolina, hosted by the Johnson C. Smith University.
