Four All-New England Honors Drive Women’s Track & Field to 13th at New England Championships

Dexter takes her seventh-career All-New England honor

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (May 13, 2017) – The Stonehill College women's track and field program finished its weekend at the New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Williams College, with six All-New England performances after collecting four more on day two of the championships at Lee track.

Borofski tallied her eighth track and Field All-New England honor, while breaking her own school record

Senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) earned her eighth All-New England honor after she finished third in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:26.91. Borofski crushed her old 1500-meter run school record by two seconds, where she clocked in at 4:28.50 in this years' NE10 Championship. This mark moves her up to 15th on the NCAA Division II Outdoor Qualifying list.

Stonehill's 4x800-meter relay, consisting of Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown), Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy), Jillian Caiazzi (Marlborough, Massachusetts/Marlborough), and Borofski took third among eight teams. The quartet finished with a time of 9:14.69, taking All-New England honors.

Sophomore Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/Union 32) also earned All-New England honors in the 100-meter dash as she crossed the finish in 12.40, good for eighth. Dexter earned her seventh-career All-New England accolade in the 200-meter dash as she clocked in at 25.05, good for sixth place.

Gaelin Farrell (Baldwinville, Massachusetts/Narragansett Regional) finished ninth among 21 competitors in the shot put with a toss of 12.85m (42ft, 2inch), as Shayla Lyons (Westerlo, New York/Bishop Maginn/Berne-Knox Westerlo) placed 15th with a mark of 12.07m (39ft, 7.25inch).

Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay took 10th out of 14 teams with a time of 3:58.58. The quartet included Claire Hurtado (Newington, Connecticut), Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle and Cassidy), Colleen Perry (Weymouth, Massachusetts/Weymouth), and Megan Bobinski (Torrington, Connecticut/Holy Cross).

The 4x100-meter relay clocked in at 48.69 with a ninth-place finish over 17 teams. The relay consisting of Tulie Finley-Moise (Lexington, Massachusetts/Lexington), Emily Polvere (Somers, New York/Somers), Hannah Ameen (Andover, Massachusetts/Andover), and Dexter finished third in their section behind Trinity and Williams.

Jesica Litwa (Seymour, Massachusetts/Seymour) took 13th in the discus throw hitting a mark of 36.84m (120ft, 10inch).

Lastra, McAdams and Emily Knox (Worcester, Massachusetts/Notre Dame Academy) also ran the 1500-meter run. Lastra finished 15th with a time of 4:37.25, while McAdams took 24th with a mark of 4:50.60 and Knox came in 26th with a time of 4:55.64.

Caiazzi took fifth in her heat of the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.84, but ended up 25th overall, out of 29 competitors.

Stonehill will be off next weekend before returning to action on May 25-27, when its qualified individuals compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Tampa & IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
