Daggett and Ward Kick Off New England Championship with All-New England Honors

Daggett earns fourth All-New England honor, Ward picks up her first accolade

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (May 12, 2017) –  The Stonehill College women's track and field program posted a pair of All-New England performances on day one at the New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Williams College, on Friday.

Courtney Daggett (Attleboro, Massachusetts/Attleboro) and Madison Ward (Holliston, Massachusetts/Holliston) hit a mark of 1.65m (5ft, 5inch) in the high jump, as Daggett placed third and Ward finished seventh overall. Both earned All-New England honors with their marks, as Daggett recorded her fourth and Ward picked up her first All-New England honor.

Sophomore Olivia Dexter (East Calais, Vermont/Union 32) clocked in at 12.22 in the 100-meter dash ranking eighth among the field of 29 and qualifying her for finals on Saturday. Dexter also qualified for the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.10, putting her eighth overall and second in her heat.

Sophomore Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle and Cassidy) finished fifth in her heat of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.50, making her 18th out of 29 competitors.

Senior Tulie Finley-Moise (Lexington, Massachusetts/Lexington) finished fifth in her heat with a time of 12.58 in the 100-meter dash, ranking her 23rd overall competitors.

Azariah Boyd (Brockton, Massachusetts/Brockton) finished 13th in the preliminary race of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.97.

Megan Bobinski (Torrington, Connecticut/Holy Cross) clocked in at 57.83, good for 16th in the preliminary round of the 400-meter dash.

Stonehill is back in action on Saturday for day two of the New England Championships at Williams College, starting at noon.
