Borofski

EASTON, Mass. (April 25, 2017) – Stonehill College women's track and field senior Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference's Track Female Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.

Borofski competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 21 and finished fourth among the field of 21 competitors in the 3000-meter steeplechase. The senior clocked in with a time of 10:16.06, just shy of her personal best time and current school record of 10:15.27, which she set last year at the NCAA Championships. With her time this year, Borofski earned her second-straight automatic bid in the 3000m steeplechase to the NCAA Championships next month and places her seventh on the NCAA Division II qualifying list.

The Plymouth, Massachusetts native previously bypassed two NCAA provisional marks at the Minuteman Invitational, hosted by UMass Amherst, for her first NE10 Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor. She crossed the finish with a time of 4:30.73 in the 1500-meter run, finishing second. The senior is ranked 22nd in the 1500-meter race on the NCAA Division II qualifying list.

She also competed in the 800-meter race and finished third with a personal best time of 2:13.16. Borofski is currently ranked 52nd in the 800-meter dash on the NCAA Division II qualifying list.
