EASTON, Mass. (March 1, 2017) – Stonehill College senior All-American Nicole Borofski (Plymouth, Massachusetts/Plymouth North) and its 4000-meter distance medley relay team have been officially accepted to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Alabama Huntsville and the Birmingham CrossPlex, being held in conjunction with the 2017 Division II Championships Festival, March 7-11, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Borofski, who will be making her third straight trip to the NCAA Indoor Championships, will compete individually in the one mile run and will also run as part of the distance medley relay. It will be Borofski's ninth NCAA Championships appearance for her career overall, having competed at four cross country nationals and two outdoor track & field championships to go with her now three indoor events. She will compete in the indoor mile for the first time in her career, and is seeded sixth overall, after running the indoor 3000-meter run as a sophomore and junior, placing 12th a year ago, and it will mark the third straight year she will anchor the DMR, helping the relay team to a sixth place finish a year ago.

Joining Borofski as part of the distance medley relay, which is seeded tenth, next week will be senior All-American Aisha McAdams (North Kingstown, Rhode Island/North Kingstown), who has run the 1200-meter lead leg for the DMR the last two years but will take the 800-meter leg next week, along with sophomore Krista Fernandes (Taunton, Massachusetts/Coyle & Cassidy) and freshman Anna Lastra (Bridgton, Maine/Fryeburg Academy), a pair of first time participants at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Fernandes will run the 400-meter portion of the relay and Lastra, who also competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in November, will run the opening 1200-meter leg. It will be the seventh career NCAA Championships appearance for McAdams who has run at four cross country nationals and one outdoor track & field championship (2016) to go with her three indoor championships.
