DEDHAM, Mass.-- Four Stonehill outdoor track and field individuals posted top performances at the rain-soaked Northeastern Solomon Husky Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Solomon Track.

On the men’s side, freshman Thomas Woods (Medfield, Mass.) broke his own school record in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.74 to win the event and qualify for the all-New England Championships in the process. Fellow freshman Richard Gerry (Bow, N.H.) captured the 800 meters for the Chieftains in a time of 1:57, while senior Sotirios Pintzopoulos (North Reading, Mass.) was the top collegiate runner in the 100 meters, finishing second overall with a time of 11.26.

Sophomore Maura Williams (Ellington, Conn.) led the way on the women’s side with a second place finish in the 400 meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:09.

Both Stonehill squads travel to Philadelphia, Pa. next weekend to compete in the prestigious Penn Relays.
