DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (July 17, 2019) – Stonehill College women's tennis teammates Isabelle Porter and Emma Markaryan are maintaining their tennis game in south Florida this summer and teamed up to win a doubles tournament title last week.

Porter, a rising junior ranked 13th in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region singles rankings, and Markaryan, a rising sophomore who earned All-NE10 first team honors as a freshman, teamed up to win the women's open doubles title at the recent Delray Summer Open & NTRP Championships, hosted by Pro World Tennis, June 29-July 2. The duo also competed at the event's women's open singles tournament, reaching the round of 32 after first round wins.

Porter and Markaryan reached the Open Doubles final with an 8-2 win over Gabriela Castanon and Elizabeth Mendez, from Miami, Florida, before topping sisters Mia and Minorka Miranda, of Delray Beach, 8-3 in the final. Porter defeated Mariana Pardo, from Highland Beach, Florida, in the women's open singles tournament (4-0, 5-3), while Markaryan topped Kellyhan Kadzinski, from Pompano Beach, Florida, in her first round singles match (4-1, 4-2).

Porter, who along with classmate Bethany Hammond, is ranked ninth in the Oracle/ITA East Region doubles rankings in addition to her singles rankings, is a three-time All-Northeast-10 Conference performer after earning second team honors at No. 1 singles and doubles last fall. She has posted a career combined record of 50-26, including 29-12 in singles play, with a 16-2 record in NE10 matches, to go with a 21-14 doubles record, including 11-5 in the NE10. Porter has reached the quarterfinal round of the USTA/ITA Division II East Regional singles championship each of her first two years, while teaming up with Victoria Barbetta, '18 to advance to the doubles semifinals at the 2017 East Regional.
