Vo Picks Up Third NE10 Player of the Week Award

EASTON, Mass. (April 9, 2019) – Stonehill College junior captain Alexandra Vo has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for women's tennis for the third time this season by the league office today.

Vo, ranked No. 14 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region rankings, earns NE10 Player of the Week honors for the third time this season and fourth of her career. She delivered a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles as Stonehill split the three singles matches in Thursday's 4-3 setback to Division I Providence College. She defeated Providence freshman Haley Gurski in the match after combining with freshman Samantha Ormesher at No. 1 doubles.

Vo, an All-NE10 second team performer at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles during the fall, is a combined 27-13 in singles and doubles play this season. She has posted a 16-3 singles record, including a 13-2 dual match mark and 9-0 in the NE10. She is 11-10 in doubles matches with two different playing partners, including a 7-4 mark in the NE10. Vo and Ormesher have teamed up for a 6-3 mark, including 6-0 in the NE10, to earn All-NE10 honors as a pairing.

Vo has posted a combined 87-40 record in singles and doubles play over her career and is a five-time All-NE10 performer. She is 49-12 over her career in singles play, including 32-0 in NE10 dual matches, to go with a 38-28 career doubles record, including 26-9 in the NE10. The 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple semesters.

Stonehill (13-4, 11-0 NE10), ranked 40th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II national rankings and No. 3 in the ITA East Region rankings, is back in action on Friday, when it hosts Division I College of the Holy Cross for a non-conference match at Charles Watt Tennis Courts at 5 p.m. The Skyhawks have won 24-straight NE10 regular season matches, having captured their third-straight NE10 regular season championship and then sixth NE10 Tournament Championship in the fall.
