Vo Named NE10 Player of the Week

EASTON, Mass. (March 1, 2019) – Stonehill College junior captain Alexandra Vo has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for women's tennis by the league office.

Vo secured one of Stonehill's two points in Sunday's spring opener at Babson College, as she rallied from a set down for a 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Natasha Tamarkin at No. 2 singles. Vo ranked 14th in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings, earns NE10 Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, after also being named on September 26, and third time for her career overall.

Vo, an All-NE10 second team performer at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles during the fall, is a combined 26-10 in singles and doubles play this season. She is 15-2 in singles matches, including a 12-1 dual match record and 9-0 in the NE10, winner her last seven. She is 11-8 in doubles matches with two different playing partners, including a 7-4 mark in the NE10. Vo and freshman Samantha Ormesher have teamed up for a 6-2 mark, including 6-0 in the NE10 to earn All-NE10 honors as a pairing.

Vo has posted a combined 86-37 record in singles and doubles play over her career and is a five-time All-NE10 performer over her career. She is 48-11 over her career in singles play, including 32-0 in NE10 dual matches, to go with a 38-26 career doubles record, including 26-9 in the NE10. The 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll multiple semesters.

Stonehill (13-2, 11-0 NE10), ranked No. 3 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II East Regional rankings, returns to action on Thursday, March 7, when it visits Belmont University in Tennessee at 6 p.m. The Skyhawks have won 24-straight NE10 regular season matches, having captured their third-straight NE10 regular season championship and then sixth NE10 Tournament Championship in the fall.
