Markaryan Signs NLI with Stonehill Women’s Tennis

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, native set to join Skyhawks for 2018-19 season

EASTON, Mass. (June 13, 2018) – Stonehill College women's tennis head coach Marc Maloney, the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year, has announced that Emma Markaryan, a native of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and a product of Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the College as a member of the Class of 2022.

Markaryan has earned a Universal Tennis Rating of 8.0 and is ranked #280 nationally for the Class of 2018 by tennisrecruiting.net. The daughter of Karo and Karine Markaryan of Palm Beach Gardens, she is coached by Maria Kondratieva and Sophie Lefevre, and plans to major in English and philosophy at Stonehill. Markaryan enjoys playing the flute and piano, and chose Stonehill because "When I visited the College I immediately knew it was going to be a great place to call home for the next four years."

Stonehill, ranked No. 42 in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II national rankings, matching its program-best for the second time this spring, is also ranked No. 4 in the Oracle/ITA East Regional rankings. The Skyhawks finished their season with a 15-5 record overall, including 12-0 in the NE10 to capture its eighth regular season championship and earning its 12th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
