Stonehill Places Seven on All-NE10 Women’s Tennis Teams

Vo and O'Donnell both earn All-NE10 honors for singles and doubles

EASTON, Mass. (October 25, 2017) – Seven members of the Northeast-10 Conference regular season champion Stonehill College women's tennis program have collected All-Northeast-10 honors for their performances during the regular season, the league announced today.

Senior Colleen O'Donnell (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) and sophomore Alexandra Vo (Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania/Nazareth Academy) lead the list of seven All-NE10 performers by earning the honors for both singles and doubles. Six Skyhawks have earned All-NE10 first team honors, with Vo doing so at No.2 singles and doubles, while O'Donnell adds second team honors at No. 5 singles to go with first team accolades at No. 3 doubles, and junior Nicole Downey (Groveland, Massachusetts/Pentucket Regional) earns third team honors at No. 4 singles. Freshman Isabelle Porter (Jupiter, Florida/William T. Dwyer) adds NE10 All-Rookie Team accolades to her first team All-NE10 award at No. 3 singles.

Vo, the 2016 NE10 Rookie of the Year, earns All-NE10 first team honors at No. 2 singles for the second-straight year, while also collecting All-NE10 doubles honors for the first time. She and sophomore Annelise Howick (Jacksonville, Florida/Creekside) earn All-NE10 first team honors at No. 2 doubles after posting a 12-1 record overall, including 11-1 in NE10 play and winning all seven of their matches at No. 2. It marks the first All-NE10 award for Howick.

Vo is 15-1 overall in singles play this fall, including an 11-0 record in NE10 play, having won all 23 of her NE10 singles matches over her first two seasons at Stonehill. She enters the NE10 Tournament with a 58-14 overall combined record in singles and doubles play, including a 32-3 singles record and a 26-11 doubles mark. Vo, named the NE10 Player of the Week once this fall, reached the Round of 16 of the singles championship at the ITA East Regional in September.

O'Donnell earns All-NE10 singles honors for the third time in her career with her second team honors at No. 5 singles after collecting first team accolades at No. 6 singles as a freshman and junior. It marks the second time she has earned All-NE10 honors for both singles and doubles, having earned first team honors at No. 3 doubles her freshman year, with her first team award with freshman Bethany Hammond (Belgrade, Maine/St. Dominic's) this fall. The Maine duo have won all eight of their doubles matches this fall, including a 7-0 mark at No. 3 in NE10 play. O'Donnell is 8-1 in singles matches, including a 7-1 clip in the NE10.

O'Donnell, who was dealt her first NE10 regular season loss this spring, enters the NE10 Tournament 26-1 over her career in NE10 singles matches. The five-time All-NE10 performer over her career is a combined 64-8 in singles play over her career, posting a 32-3 career singles record, to go with a 32-5 career doubles mark. The NE10 All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman has also earned NE10 Academic All-Conference honors as a junior.

Porter earns All-NE10 first team honors at No. 3 singles, while also being named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team. She has made an immediate impact for Stonehill, posting a 21-4 combined record in singles and doubles play. Porter has recorded a 13-1 singles mark, including 8-0 in NE10 matches, while going 8-3 in doubles with senior Victoria Barbetta (Wesley Chapel, Florida/Saddlebrook Prep). Porter earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors once this fall.

Senior Emma Prinos (Foxborough, Massachusetts/Foxborough) earns All-NE10 first team singles honors for the third straight year, having collected five All-Conference honors over her career. She is a four-time All-NE10 singles performer, earning third team honors at No. 3 singles as a freshman, first team at No. 4 as a sophomore and first team at No. 5 her junior year to go with her first team efforts at No. 6 this fall. Prinos also collected All-NE10 second team honors at No. 2 doubles her freshman year when she was also named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team. She has won all five of her singles matches this season, and is 40-22 over her career in singles matches, including a 30-4 mark in the NE10.

Downey rounds out Stonehill's All-NE10 performers with a spot on the third team at No. 4 singles. She is 12-4 in singles play this fall, including a 9-3 mark in the NE10, with a 6-2 clip at No. 4. It marks the second All-NE10 award of her career, having been named to the third team at No. 5 singles as a freshman, when she was also selected to the All-Rookie Team. Downey has posted a combined 72-27 record in singles and doubles play over her career, including a 46-12 singles record, having posted an 27-4 career NE10 singles mark. She has earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition over her career and won the B-Singles Bracket at the ITA East Regional in 2015.

Stonehill (13-0, 12-0 NE10), which has won its second straight NE10 regular season title and eighth in program history overall, is the top seed for this week's NE10 Tournament and will host No. 5-seed Le Moyne College (13-4, 8-4 NE10) in a semifinal round match at Charles Watt Tennis Courts on Friday at 1 p.m.
