Barbetta Earns NE10 Player of the Week Honors

EASTON, Mass. (October 4, 2017) – Stonehill College senior captain Victoria Barbetta (Wesley Chapel, Florida/Saddlebrook Prep (Fla.)) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for women's tennis by the league office.

Barbetta earns Player of the Week honors from the NE10 for the first time this season, third of her career, after leading Stonehill to a 2-0 week. She was a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles play over the two matches, leading the Skyhawks as a double-winner in Saturday's 9-0 win over Saint Anselm College. Barbetta teamed up with freshman Isabelle Porter (Jupiter, Florida/William T. Dwyer) for a 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 1 doubles against the Hawks, before she upended senior Jess Perkins, the region's No. 4-ranked singles player, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Barbetta also notched a 6-0, 6-1 win over Franklin Pierce University sophomore Alana Wyatt in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Ravens.

Barbetta Postmatch Interview vs. St. Anselm

Barbetta has posted a combined record of 12-6 in singles and doubles play this season. She is 4-4 overall in singles, including a 4-2 mark in the NE10, while she and Porter are 8-3 in doubles, including a 3-2 record in the NE10. Barbetta and Porter also paired up to reach the semifinal round at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional, marking the deepest run at the event in program history.

Barbetta, a two-time All-NE10 performer over her career, has posted a career combined record of 97-51 (.655) in singles and doubles play. She is 46-25 over her career in singles, including a 30-9 mark in the NE10, to go with a 51-26 career doubles record, including 29-10 in the NE10. Barbetta has earned NE10 Academic All-Conference and ITA Scholar-Athlete status over the career at Stonehill, also earning NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll status every semester at the College.

Stonehill (7-0, 6-0 NE10), ranked No. 6 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II East Regional rankings, is back in action on Saturday, when it hosts American International College for Senior Day at Charles Watt Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
